Linda A. Mooney, Ph.D., is an associate professor of sociology at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. In addition to social problems, her specialties include law, criminology, and juvenile delinquency. She has published over 30 professional articles in such journals as Social Forces, Sociological Inquiry, Sex Roles, Sociological Quarterly, and Teaching Sociology, in addition to authoring several books. She has won numerous teaching awards, including the University of North Carolina, Board of Governor's Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award.

I was able to better understand a few things after reading this book. Great information. Well written and entertaining.
I normally do not review textbooks because they are a requirement, but this one is by far the most anti-American, politically and racially biased textbook I have ever come across. It is also filled with the authors’ opinions that are completely unnecessary. This book is a complete disgrace to what Sociology truly stands for and has made me question pursuing my degree in the field.
This book brand new came without an access code. Unable to start class on time without the online access code. Purchase new assuming used ones would not come with code.
Very interesting book, I would probably scan through it even if I didn’t need it for class.
Good book but I specifically ordered the loose leaf version, because in class we have to use a binder and I wanted to keep everything together. Other than that would not know at all that it was a used book.
