Clever, opinionated and LOTS of footnotes!
James Franklin is a fine scholar and a fine writer. This book is as original as it is witty and lively. It fully deserves the five stars. This makes it all the more true that neither the book nor its author deserve the awful typesetting they got from the Amazon Kindle editors. Footnotes mingled with text, fragmented pictures, lack of proper indentation, no separation of chapters, file crashing, the works! In my experience (I've bought several hundred Kindle books) the Amazon editors had already managed to produce a few editing freaks, but this goes beyond anything I had seen before, it is a true nightmare. To Amazon: Shame on you! To the reader: Stick with the printed version!
